State of the Game - July 2024
We're back at it again!
Welcome back to another State of the Game! Sorry for the delay, things just got crazy over the past few days where I couldn't write this properly. But as always we're here to share what's been going on behind the scenes will you wait for the next big update.
Almost There
Now that we've completed all the core features for this update, our primary focus has shifted towards addressing and fixing as many bugs as possible. This means that we aren't focusing on some large features now, but we're just chipping away on the finer details of the new systems.
Visual Updates
We’ve made significant improvements to the game's visuals. Many textures have been revamped, including updates to particles, attires, and existing tiles. We’re also working on more subtle visual flares such as players blinking, and making plants sway more naturally based on environmental factors like entities' speed.
Music Tracks
We’re pleased to announce that the game now includes over 20 unique music tracks, thanks to our new composer and the additional work from our current composers. Many of these tracks will be used across all biomes of the game so don't expect all of them to play in one place. We're aiming to have at least 25 tracks for Beta 1.1 so stay tuned for future announcements about some new music tracks coming to the game.
Data-Driven Systems
The data-driven systems have seen substantial updates, particularly with the integration of attires and particle effects. These enhancements will allow for more dynamic and customizable gameplay, as well as a more polished and consistent experience throughout the game.
Potion Effects
This section wasn't supposed to appear here, but since I started working on this on the last day of July, but also finished it on the same day; we might as well announce that we're adding Potions and Effects to the game! We can't show some screenshots about it right now because I just quite literally finished the main system today but hopefully in the next month we can share some by then.
